What to Do
Before participating in a psilocybin ceremony, it is important to take some time to prepare both physically and mentally. This can help to create a safe and supportive environment for the experience, and to optimize the potential benefits.
Here are some requirements and suggestions for preparation before a psilocybin ceremony:
- Consult with me. It is important that you speak with a trained facilitator before participating in a psilocybin ceremony. We will talk and try to resolve any external obligations or responsibilities before the ceremony to minimize distractions and allow for a more focused and immersive experience. We will set an intention. Take some time to reflect on your reasons for participating in the ceremony and set a clear intention for what you hope to gain from the experience.
- Maintain a healthy lifestyle. Leading up to the ceremony, it is recommended that you maintain a healthy diet, exercise regularly, and get plenty of rest to support your physical and mental wellbeing. Consider practicing mindfulness, meditation, or other relaxation techniques leading up to the ceremony to help calm the mind and prepare for the experience. Do not eat or have coffee 4 hours before, just water is ok, have light lunch, soup, fruits, dried fruits, oats, vegan meals - the day of and before if possible.
- Avoid alcohol and drugs. It is recommended that you abstain from alcohol and other drugs for at least two weeks before the ceremony.
